The Story
Home Sweet Home was my love letter to a place that I consider my sanctuary. A place I slow down, read a book, enjoy a cup of tea, and simply exist without feeling pulled in a hundred different directions.
One day, while sitting on the porch in a moment of complete contentment, I made a quick sketch of the view from one side of the space to my favorite chair on the other.
That sketch eventually grew into this piece. As I worked on it, I found myself drawn to vibrant colors, embroidered details, and playful textures that reflected how the space felt rather than how it looked.
Every element became part of the story, capturing the warmth, comfort, and joy I found there.
When I finished the painting, I hung it in my office. At the time, I was navigating a difficult and often toxic work environment while holding onto a job I genuinely loved. Seeing this piece every day reminded me of what was waiting for me outside those walls: a home, a safe space, and a life that felt like my own.
Even now, when I look at it, I'm reminded of the importance of creating spaces where we can breathe, recharge, and feel completely at peace with ourselves.
